Spanish dentist in the Netherlands
Nancy
Emergency dentist

I work at an emergency clinic in the Netherlands, where the whole team has given me a fantastic welcome.

My name is Nancy, I’m 30 years old, from Castellón de la Plana, and I studied Dentistry at the University of Valencia.

I always knew I wanted to grow professionally and have new experiences. After six years working as a dentist in Spain, I decided to take a big step: try my luck abroad.

My path led me to the company Trabajar en Holanda (Work in Holland), whom I already knew from a talk during my final year of university. They supported me throughout the entire process: from learning the language comfortably from home, to registering for the exam, becoming a licensed dentist, finding a clinic, and moving. All in about a year!

Since September, I’ve been working at an emergency clinic in the Netherlands, where the whole team has given me a fantastic welcome. Every day is a new adventure that motivates me and helps me grow professionally. Plus, my schedule allows me to enjoy my mornings to myself, achieving a perfect work-life balance.

In short, although moving to another country wasn’t easy, I’m very happy with my decision and this change. I can assure you it’s been totally worth it, and I’m excited to discover everything the future holds for me here.

Seeing how well our children adapted made the experience much easier.

Hi! My name is Nathalia, I’m from Brazil (Santos) and I came to the Netherlands with my husband, who is also a dentist, and our two daughters. Before coming, I started my integrated master’s degree at CESPU in Portugal, and we decided it was time to seek new opportunities and a more peaceful life here in the Netherlands.

We went through the whole process with Trabajar en Holanda, which helped us a lot at every stage. Arriving in a new country is never easy: the language, the different routine, the bureaucracy… and also helping my daughters adapt to school. But little by little everything fell into place, and seeing how well our children adapted made the experience much easier.

Today we work here and continue to develop professionally. Life in the Netherlands is great: we manage to balance work and family, the environment is respectful and safe, and you feel you have room to grow without so much pressure.

Moving to another country was a big challenge, but it also brings many achievements, learning experiences, and special moments. Without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

They helped me find a clinic where I really feel comfortable.

Hi, I’m Daniel, graduated from the International University of Catalonia in Barcelona. Last year I decided that I wanted to explore and work in another country. With ‘Trabajar en Holanda’ everything was much easier than I expected: they helped me with the language, the documentation and finding a clinic where I really feel at ease.

Since August 2025 I have been working in Eindhoven and the experience is very positive: the working hours are reasonable, the work environment is professional and I can continue learning every day. I like how the balance between work and personal life is valued here and how the work as a dentist here in the Netherlands is helping me to grow as a dentist.

Emergency Dentist

As an emergency dentist I`m able to evolve a lot as dentist and get the opportunity to treat a wide variety of cases.

Hello! My name is Anna, I was born in Russia and grew up in Portugal. I graduated as a dentist from the Faculty of Lisbon in 2021. As a recent graduate I knew the best way to achieve my dreams would be to work in a country with a high demand for dentists, such as the Netherlands!
When I came across Trabajar en Holanda I understood I would get the support I needed all the way to my B2+ Dutch level certificate. The language course is very structured and was adapted to my needs.
Working in the Netherlands as an emergency dentist I`m able to evolve a lot as dentist and get the opportunity to treat a wide variety of cases. Trabajar en Holanda helped me to get access to the 30% expat ruling which results in a higher income.
In overall, I’m really happy I took the decision to come to the Netherlands.

Work abroad as a dentist

Students of the Dutch language course

One of the things we value most is that the agency guarantees us a clinic where we can start working after finishing our degree, which is very important for us since we don’t have professional experience yet.

I’m Soha. I learned about the agency thanks to our class representative at the University of Barcelona (Spain), and later I mentioned it to Patricia. We decided to start the process together. From the beginning, everything was very simple: we were able to have personalized interviews in which all our questions were answered very clearly. Later on, we received the contract, which we were able to read calmly before signing, and we felt supported at every step.

One of the things we value most is that the agency guarantees us a clinic where we can start working after finishing our degree, which is very important for us since we don’t have professional experience yet. They also offer us Dutch classes until we reach level B2+, which gives us a lot of confidence. They will also help us with all the paperwork when the time comes to move to the Netherlands, something we truly appreciate.

Since July, we have been attending Dutch classes and the experience has been very positive. The sessions are dynamic, enjoyable, and interactive, and learning a new language has been surprisingly manageable. The use of the online language program (included in the course) has also been very helpful for our progress.

Overall, we are very happy and grateful for this opportunity. We believe it is a very enriching experience that can open many doors. We encourage any person who is interested to learn more about the agency and consider this option. If they decide to take the step, we hope they enjoy the process as much as we have.

They handled everything for me: online Dutch lessons, finding a suitable clinic, my work residency permit (for Non-EU residents), …

I’m Dana from Montreal, Canada, and I studied dentistry at the Universidad Europea de Madrid (Spain).

I started Dutch classes in February 2024, passed the exam in December 2024, and moved to Utrecht, Netherlands, in March 2025.

I met Meggie from Trabajar en Holanda via a few collaborations with them and the dental association of my university, of which I was the president. I chose them as my connection to the dental field in the Netherlands because they were the only company I had met that truly followed through on their promises. They handled everything for me: online Dutch lessons, finding a suitable clinic, and my work residency permit. So, I really only had to focus on Dutch classes.

Living in the Netherlands has been an enjoyable experience so far. Other than being a clean and safe place to live, it is also extremely organised and efficient. This is super important to me, because nothing is worse than being confused in a new country. As for the country itself, it is very small and, therefore, easy to explore. There are lots of activities happening all the time.

As a dentist here, not only do I have a stable schedule, but the profession is very much respected. I work in the mobile dental practices, and although it’s a difficult learning curve, I have had the opportunity to go to dental courses through my company as well as shadow more experienced dentists to improve my knowledge and skills.

I would easily choose Trabajar en Holanda again, and I still recommend them to friends who are driven to gain work experience in such a professional and innovative country.

Alara
Dentist in Amsterdam

I learned Dutch much faster than I anticipated!

I am Alara, originally from Albania, and I have a dental degree from Italy.

I decided to move to the Netherlands because of its excellent healthcare system, outstanding working conditions, and the appealing work-life balance that allows me to fully enjoy both my professional and personal life. I chose to embark on this journey with Trabajar en Holanda because they were always available to me and guided me every step of the way. They connected me with an incredible Dutch teacher whose schedule fit perfectly with mine, and thanks to their interactive online programme, I learned Dutch much faster than I anticipated.

Trabajar en Holanda also thoroughly prepared me for the Dutch language exam and supported me with all the required paperwork, including the BIG registration. They matched me with a clinic that fit all my requirements in terms of location and type of practice.

Today, I work full-time in a clinic in Amsterdam alongside highly experienced and supportive dentists. As a recent graduate, I truly appreciate having mentors around me and being part of a team that follows best practices in patient care.

Thanks to Trabajar en Holanda, my transition to life and work in the Netherlands has been smooth and rewarding. I can focus on my career, explore this vibrant country, and enjoy the many opportunities that come with living here.

Dentist in Goirle

Anything I needed, they were on hand to help me.

Hi! My name is Hamilton, and I’ve been working in the Netherlands for 8 months. I’m Brazilian and graduated 16 years ago. I choose to come and work in the Netherlands because life here is very good, we have security, good wages, and lots of things to do. As it is a small country (compared to Brazil) it is easy to get to know different cities and experience the local culture.

“Trabajar en Holanda” was very important in this move to the Netherlands. Anything I needed, they were on hand to help me. It was a partnership that worked very well and I hope to have a long relationship with them. Thank you so much for all the help, for all the dedication and attention!

The working conditions are definitely better than in Spain.

Hello! My name is Belén, I’m 25 years old, and I moved to the Netherlands in January 2022 to work as a dentist. I studied at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, and during the last years of my degree I worked at a clinic to gain experience. I always imagined myself living abroad, and there is a shortage of dentists in the Netherlands. On top of that, the working conditions are definitely better than in Spain. A friend recommended the company Trabajar en Holanda to me, and I started attending the intensive language course. They take care of the language training, the documentation for the exam, and they are responsible for finding a dental clinic to work at once we pass the exam.

I’m still happy with my decision. The Netherlands is beautiful, the people are very friendly, and it’s a country with a lot to offer.
